The Lightning League

How did the Lightning League get together?

What's this about an "original" Lightning League?

The current League borrowed its name from the original Lightning League, a brave band of heroes who stood against the forces of darkness in ages past. The original group vanished, leaving behind cryptic markers detailing where they went. Their descendants live on Epsilon IX and appear in the episode called Lightning Strikes Twice.

Is Audric an official member of the Lightning League or not? Is Herc?

The Lighting League is, by definition, the name used to describe the band of fighters trying to stop Saw Boss and his Monster Minds. Herc is certainly part of that band, as he must see Jayce's mission through before he can be paid. Audric is also generally considered to belong to the League, even though he is not currently with them. After all, he is the one who created the two Roots, and victory over the Monster Minds depends entirely on his reunion with his son Jayce.

If the Ring of Light is so powerful, why doesn't the Lightning League use it to stop the Monster Minds forever?

The Ring is a magical talisman that is designed to be used only in emergencies, when there is no other choice. It can't be used to solve people's problems for them. Theory has it that the Ring won't even work if you ask it to do something that you can do for yourself.

Why doesn't the League just nuke the universe with a giant bomb made of Weed-B-Gone and end this whole war?

The force of such an explosion would cause a great deal of damage to everything that's not shielded. Besides, the Weed-B-Gone could hurt or kill Flora, Soultree, Swampwitch, the Tree of Life, and all other plants and related beings. This would leave planets without food or breathable air. If the plants go, then so does everyone else. Talk about overkill! That's like using a Patriot Missile to cut a sandwich.
