DreamworldHerc won a map to Dreamworld (as well as some treasure) in a card game. Dreamworld was a magical realm where all of a person's dreams came true. Herc persuades the Lightning League to travel there on the assumption that there they could discover Audric's whereabouts. Dreamworld's central palace and the surrounding countryside were shrouded in perpetual mists. Flora sensed something strange, "but it's hiding from me... like there's a veil over the whole planet." What they didn't know was that Saw Boss has threatened to destroy Dreamworld unless its inhabitants helped him capture the Lightning League. When the Pride touched down, Herc zipped out to begin his dream. The others, more cautious, boarded the vehicles and drove to the palace. There Jayce was reunited with Audric! Father, son, and Oon entered the palace laboratory, where they prepared to join the two halves of the Root. Flora and Gillian discovered a replica of their old garden home. (Lizzard's Note: See Escape from the Garden for the story of the original garden's destruction.) Herc, meanwhile, entered a treasure room to lounge on the gold coins and be served by gorgeous women. Just as the Jayce and Audric's Roots were about to be grafted together, Monster Mind vehicles broke into the Dreamworld laboratory. A Terror Trooper destroyed both amulets! Jayce summoned the Lightning League vehicles for assistance. The vehicles demolished the palace as they battled the enemy troops, bringing the place down on the latter's heads. Jayce, Oon, and Audric managed to escape, but the Monster Minds ambushed them as they fled. The troopers shoved Quick Draw and Spike Trike off the road, to disappear into the mists. Then the Monster Minds did the same to Drill Sergeant... with Audric inside. Both scientist and vehicle vanished in a flash of white light. Jayce desperately plowed through the Monster Minds ahead of him. He made it to the garden, where he gave Gillian and Flora the bad news. They were all upset over Audric's passing, yet vow to go on. Gillian teleported everyone save for Herc back to the Pride, collapsing from the strain of using too much magic. Monster Mind troopers approached, but Herc blew them away with a laser rifle, ticked that they "busted up a beautiful dream!" (Lizzard's Note: That's some rifle!) Beast Walker then entered the fray. Oon, using Armed Force, tried to stop the stalker. Armed Force was kicked high into the air, and a damaged Oon passed out after the awful crash. Jayce summoned Trail Blazer to hold off Beast Walker, resulting in a standoff between the stalkers. Saw Boss appeared in vehicle form to lead his troops. Ultimately, the Monster Minds captured the Lightning League with tangle vines. With no other recourse, Jayce called upon the Ring of Light for help. It erupted with a powerful burst of white energy. Saw Boss was changed back into his humanoid form, the Monster Mind troopers were disintegrated, and the vines restraining the Pride vanished. Herc pulled out a laser pistol to execute the Monster Mind leader, but Jayce persuaded him not to sink to Saw Boss' level. The defeated Saw Boss vanished. An inhabitant of Dreamworld then appeared to thank the League for freeing the planet from the Monster Minds. She explained that the loss of the Roots and Audric was all a dream. The Lightning League, much relieved, renewed their quest. Chronological Note: This episode apparently took place before Stallions of Sandeen, as supposedly all the League vehicles were wrecked, yet Fling Shot was nowhere to be seen. Had this episode taken place after Stallions of Sandeen, Fling Shot would have been among the wrecked vehicles. It should be noted that Spray Gunner did not appear in this episode either.
