The Lightning League journeyed to the planet Auriga, following a lead concerning Audric's location.
The world was covered in solid ice, and was well-known for its gambling casinos. It was ruled by Marduk, a ruthless man who cared only about making money. He kept the human population of Auriga in virtual slavery.
Jayce and Oon left to meet Cyrilla, head of the rebel organization. She betrayed them to the Monster Minds in exchange for the latter's help in freeing the planet from Marduk. Jayce and Oon escaped, and Cyrilla was kept as a hostage in their place.
Meanwhile, Gillian created an electronic reprogrammer, a device that could reprogram anything mechanical. Herc pocketed it to win big at the casino games. Flora snuck after him because she had never seen a casino before. Herc and Flora were almost captured by Marduk's casino guards after they discovered that he used the reprogrammer to cheat. The two managed to escape when the Monster Minds break into the casino. As they drove off, they ran into Jayce and Oon. After escaping from an onslaught of troopers, everyone returned to the Pride.
Gillian suggested a plan to stop the Monster Minds. While the others distracted the enemy forces, he used his reprogrammer to divert the city's heat into the surrounding glacier. This caused the vines within the city to shatter from the intense cold. After Saw Boss teleported away, the people of Auriga (including Cyrilla) were freed, and the former tyrant Marduk was forced to work for a living.
