Hook, Line, and Sinker

The Monster Minds offered the Lightning League a deal -- Audric in exchange for the Root. Jayce planned a rescue, knowing it was a trap. The League was directed to a planet boasting many layers and levels, connected together by rock, strong winds, and mists.

Jayce headed out to meet Audric while the League stood watch from nearby. Once he was close enough to be convinced that it really was his father, Jayce ordered the League vehicles to launch a surprise attack in order to rescue him. When Jayce reached Audric, a white tractor beam pulled them onto an upper level. Audric was revealed to be only an illusion. As the enemy troopers closed in on Jayce, he called upon the Ring of Light. It threw off a blinding burst of light, allowing him to make his getaway.

Alerted by Jayce's abduction, the rest of the League battled troopers on the lower level. A spell from Gillian lifted them up to Jayce's level, and they all drove off with the Monster Minds in hot pursuit.

An ancient floating purple-and-yellow fish, roughly Brock's size, appeared to assist them. (Lizzard's Note: I have one of these in my closet!) They followed him into a secret cavern, where they caught their breath. His name was King Phineas, whose people were in grave danger. He was forced to help Saw Boss by creating an illusion of Audric. If he did not, the Monster Minds would have pulled out the Vortex Plug, which kept the atmospheres of two levels separate. (Lizzard's Note: I have one of these in my closet, too! It's a big closet.) If the Plug were removed, the two atmospheres would mix and create a deadly poison.

Jayce realized that the Monster Minds would pull the Plug in their efforts to capture him, so Phineas and Jayce (in Armed Force) travelled through the Radiation Rapids to reach it before the enemy troopers. Brock swam through as well, supporting the old King on his back.

Once they reached the Plug, Phineas stopped the Monster Minds from pulling it by showing them an image of their greatest desire -- an illusion of the Root. This Root illusion "fell" into the Radiation Rapids. The Monster Minds pursued it, only to be swept away forever.
