Hurricane Prison

On the planet Gomex, Monster Mind troopers chased down the scientist Gar and his children, Otto and Seena. Gar asked his children to contact the Lightning League for help, and to mention that he had created a Root similar to Audric's. Otto objected, saying that Audric took all the credit for his father's work. Gar replied that it was the only way to get help, hiding them in a compartment beneath a lab floor. Moments later, the enemy forces arrived to capture him.

Otto and Seena contacted the League after they left, having overheard that their father was being taken to the planet Kwontrax. The League agreed to help and, children in tow, travelled there to rescue Gar. Seena seemed like a nice young girl, and enjoys playing with Brock. But Otto was rude and very bitter. Jayce thought it was because he missed his father, but in truth, the boy had been affected by hearing all of his father's lies about how Audric had cheated their family. Having spent some time in Kwontrax's prison, Herc drew up a map for Jayce to use.

They arrived to find that a newly-installed hurricane surrounded the prison. After Oon broke Herc's power winch, which would have lowered the vehicles to the ground through the eye of the storm, Jayce had the vehicles parachute down instead. Herc remained on the Pride while the rest went to rescue Gar. They stormed into the prison, battling the Monster Mind troopers guarding it.

Jayce located and rescued Gar, who shamefully revealed that there was no other Root. It was all a lie, told by Gar so that his children would be proud of him. Everyone high-tailed it from the prison, the League driving straight into the hurricane's winds to be lifted to the top, where Herc scooped them up in the Pride. After Gar's confession to his children, Seena and Otto forgave their father for his lies.

The family was dropped off on the botanical planet Zakor, where Gar could do work on leaves (being better with them than with roots), and the League travelled on.
