The Planet's Computer
The Pride ran across a series of huge warning buoys in space, indicating there was something dangerous ahead.
Gillian revealed that a nearby planet contained Logos, a supercomputer. The world's inhabitants hollowed out the entire core of their world in order to make space for it. Logos used to take care of all the natives' needs, yet one day the entire civilization vanished without a trace. Since then, everyone who journeyed to the planet disappeared, just like the original inhabitants. Logos still collected data from all over the universe, so the Lightning League decided to discover if it knew where Audric was.
The Pride touched down in an enormous deserted city and disengaged Battle Base to explore. They switched to the smaller vehicles when the street became too narrow. Along the way, they were attacked by Monster Mind troopers and the "evil" side of Logos.
The computer apparently had a split personality, manifesting itself in two holographic floating faces -- a "good" comedy mask colored gold and an "evil" tragedy mask colored red. Depending on which side of its personality was in charge, Logos either threatened the League or offered them assistance.
Gillian reactivated a maintenance robot named Clarg to guide them to the general location of Logos. From there, Flora was able to track the computer, which had an organic base, to its ultimate source. While Gillian, Flora, and Clarg accessed a terminal to find Audric's location, the rest of the League members held off the incoming troopers.
Both faces of Logos suddenly appeared over the battlefield. Jayce convinced them to allow the Lightning League to prove itself by defeating the Monster Minds without its interference. The League succeeded in keeping their end of the bargain. Logos' two halves promptly destroyed each other in a fight over what to do next.
Gillian located the data detailing Audric's location. In the process, he also discovered why Logos went insane. When a disaster struck the planet long ago, Logos saved the people by encoding them as computer data. "Then a circuit blew," and it could not restore the people. It needed outside help to do so, but its defensive programming would not allow it to accept any interference. Gillian shut down Logos to makes repairs.
Jayce then asked the Ring of Light to provide an energy surge to reactivate the computer; his request was granted. The rejuvenated Logos then restored the planet's people. The city the League landed in was full of inhabitants again. The computer promised to call the Lightning League if it heard anything more about Audric. The League left in peace to continue their quest.
