"The Silver Crusaders"
Saw Boss sent out the greatest armada his vines had ever produced to take over one planet. Herc spied this huge mass of vines on his scanner and alerted the League. Jayce decided to investigate what they were after.
Due to intense sunlight and rich soil, the plants on that world grew hundreds of times their normal size (i.e. strawberries were the size of small boulders and rocks). If the Monster Minds succeeded in reaching there, they too would become oversized and virtually unstoppable. Giant dandelion spores clogged the Pride's engines during an attempted landing, forcing a rough touchdown. While Herc cleaned the engines out, the others drove off to warn the inhabitants about the imminent Monster Mind invasion. They turned back when Herc called for help. Everyone else except Flora and Brock were captured by the Crusaders, enormous knights with full body armor and broadswords.
The captive Leaguers tried to make a break for it while being escorted to the Crusader castle, but only Oon managed to escape. He made his way back to the Pride and blasted off, eventually finding the castle on his own. Jayce and Gillian were reunited with Herc inside the castle. There they witnessed an attempt to pull a shield from a magical stone. Whoever succeeded became the Crusaders' new leader. Jayce gave it a try, aided by Gillian's magic. Just as he was about to pull it out, Oon and Flora flew by overhead on Brock, intending to warn everyone that oversized Monster Mind vehicles were approaching. Oon fell off and his Magic Lance rammed through the shield's arm holds. The Squire's falling weight catapulted the shield, already loosened by Jayce, right out of the stone.
Following Jayce's advice, Oon led the Crusaders into battle against the enemy troopers. Oon and the Crusaders won the fight by using their reflective shields to amplify and direct the sun's intense light against the Monster Minds while riding the League vehicles. The enemy troops withered away in the intense heat, decomposing into inert compost. The Crusaders thus learned that not all intruders were their enemies, and the League returned to their quest.
Saw Boss: "What is it you say -- they dare to resist my vines?! They will NOT! That planet above all is vital to my Grand Design."
Saw Trooper Humanoid: "Ohhh, Great Master of Galaxies, the inhabitants are viscious and powerful!"
Saw Boss: "ENOUGH! If your instruments are correct, my vehicles grown there will be invincible. Let those powerful inhabitants try to stop the greatest armada my vines ever unleashed! Grow together, my lovely ones... go, and overwhelm them!"
Herc: "Look at the size of that Monster Mind shrubbery in Sector 37-Delta! They just don't come that big, and it's not even trying to take over those planets! Huh, this scope's gotta be on the blink!"
Gillian: (After pounding it three times to end up with the same picture) "No -- apparently they do come that big!"
Jayce: "Herc, plot where those vines are heading. Let's get there first, and see why!"
Herc: "And it started out to be such a nice day."
Herc: "That's where they're going, kid. Looks like it used to be, ah, kind of a nice place."
Jayce: "Set her down, Herc. Whatever's so valuable to Saw Boss on that planet... might be even more important to us."
Jayce: "What happened?"
Herc: "The engines have said goodnight! We're outta control!"
Flora: "Everything's GIGANTIC here! They're all so happy to be so healthy and well-fed."
Gillian: "It could be that intense sunlight."
Flora: "Or it could be the soil! Boy, if I'd grown up here, I would have really grown up!" (Giggles happily)
Gillian: "The vines will reach this soil in three hours, five minutes, and seventeen seconds -- ah, approximately."
Herc: "No problem! I can get us out of here in forty-seven seconds, exactly!"
Herc: "C'mon, kid! Even you have to know when it's time to..."
Jayce: "To see if anybody lives here who can help stop us this invasion!"
Herc: "You got forty seconds now... plus the hour it'll take me to clean the dandelions out of my engines!"
Jayce: "Quick Draw, activate Defense Mode Program!"
Quick Draw: "Command acknowledged, Barge Defense Mode!"
Herc: "And ah, bring back a little cash, willya?"
Jayce: "The only life the Locator's finding is these plants!"
(Armed Force knocks aside corn stalks moments later)
Flora: "Jayce, be careful! You're hurting them!"
Jayce: "Sorry, Flora."
Monster Mind Satellite: "Exalted One! Your vines are about to make contact -- the natives are fleeing in terror!"
Saw Boss: "Of course they are, as will the entire universe."
Monster Mind Satellite: "The barge -- I see the Lightning League barge on the planet!"
Saw Boss: "How convenient for them to be there, as the fruits of their destruction grow to ripeness."
Saw Boss: "Force of the Black Light, take me to the planet of Jayce's destruction!"
Jayce: "We come as friends, to help you resist invaders!"
Crusader General: "Ho-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho! Oh, the vines you mean? Our Crusaders slash them down before they touch ground."
Jayce: "They're not stopping that one, I promise you. We'd better start working together, fast!"
Crusader General: "YOU? Help US? Take them! No invader leaves our planet -- alive."
Oon: "Turn on, oh please turn on! It always looks so easy when he does it! (Slams both fists into the helm, making it light up & sound like a jackpot) I DID IT!"
Crusader Leader: "You have trespassed!"
Jayce: "I beg you to listen to me! There isn't much time left!"
Crusader Leader: "Indeed there is not -- like all who trespass here, you will meet our new leader in single combat unto the death."
Jayce: "...I tell you, there are hungry beasts outside who will destroy you!"
Crusader Leader: "Enough! You will fight ME -- now."
Jayce: "FIRST, I too would like to try to remove the shield from the stone!"
Crusader Leader: "You? Hah-hah-hah-hah-ha! Of course; the challenge is open to all! If you fail, be prepared for the beasts in our dungeons!"
Jayce: "Gillian! Will your wishes be with me?"
Gillian: "They will indeed, my boy."
Oon: "Jayce! The Monster Minds are here!"
Jayce: "Warn them -- you're the only one they'll listen to!"
Saw Boss: "Fight bravely, Jayce -- because this will be your last battle. I am too powerful now."
Jayce: "Ring of Light, Magic Might!"
Saw Boss: "Enjoy your triumph! There are other planets and other galaxies; you won't win forever! Forces of the Black Light, remove me from this place!"
Jayce: "Thank you for allowing your new leader to depart with us. I know your next one will be every bit as courageous."
Crusader Leader: "We've learned, my friends -- that not all intruders are our enemies."
