"The Sleeping Princess"
The Pride journeyed to a planet full of telepathic plants to meet up with Audric. The gigantic lily-pad plants in question cloaked the world from the rest of universe by making it invisible to outsiders. The Lightning League landed without incident, only to find that Audric had left to lead the people of Treetum to safety. The native Princess, Kiandra, was the only one who knew where Audric was headed after this mission of mercy.
Yet Kiandra was trapped in a magical slumber within a deep cave; the longer she slept, the weaker her bond with the telepathic plants became. Without their link with the Princess, the plants were slowly dying off and losing their powers. Despite Gillian's efforts, the Princess did not awaken. Perawon, a native wizard, belittled Gillan's efforts.
Gillian in turn exposed Perawon as the one who placed the Princess in her magical sleep. Perawon fled back to his castle to prepare for his next move. He tried to attack Jayce and Oon with magic as they approached his location, but Gillian foiled his attempts every time. Jayce captured Perawon and took him into the Princess' cave. Gillian used a magic mind-reading mirror to force Perawon to tell exactly what sleep-spell he had used. Armed with this knowledge, Gillian was able to awaken the Princess.
She immediately felt the shock of all the telepathic plants' deaths, stating that she had to journey to the Tree of Life to see if she could keep it and its plant children from dying, but was afraid that she didn't have enough strength to successfully communicate with it. Jayce asked Flora to help, and she replied that she would try. The others held off the invading Monster Mind troopers as Jayce drove both ladies there. The Princess and Flora begged the Tree to fight back; the latter even offered her own strength to it. Thanks to its friends, the Tree of Life regained its power and attacked enemy vehicles with bolts of pure mental force, quickly defeating them.
When the dust cleared, the Princess told Jayce the whereabouts of his father, and they reluctantly separated. The Pride blasted off, with Herc simultaneously steering the barge and forcing the others to listen to a litany of tall tales about his victories in the day's battles.
Herc: "I'm not taking my barge in there!"
Gillian: "If you don't, they will!"
Parawon: "Nothing can awaken her! She's been enchanted."
Gillian: "So it appears."
Flora: "The plants are gonna die if she doesn't wake up! DO something, Jayce!"
Gillian: "One wizard knows another wizard when he sees one."
Perawon: "This is my world now, and no-one's taking it away from me!"
Gillian: "We'll see whose magic is stronger!"
Perawon: "He's not going to stop me! No-one can stop me! For this, I'll do anything."
Saw Boss: "I've been searching for that planet all my life, and now -- IT comes to me!" (Mental screen on)
Perawon: "I'll make a deal with you: promise me your protection, and I'll capture Jayce for you."
Saw Boss: (Mental screen off) "You'll do what I haven't been able to do?! Capturing Jayce means nothing now -- once I join my Monster Minds with those psychic plants, nothing in the universe will stop me! A deal, Parawon? Of course we've got a deal."
Jayce: "Herc! Monster Minds coming your way!"
Herc: "'Nice quiet planet,' huh?"
Jayce: "Armed Force, Quick Draw, Battle Program C-19! Spike Trike, Trail Blazer, Defense Program!"
Spike Trike & Trail Blazer: "Command acknowledged!"
Jayce: "Gillian, sometimes your magic amazes even me!"
Jayce: "Ring of Light, Magic Might!"
Gillian: "Now I have a few questions that need answers."
Perawon (hypnotized): "Yes?"
Gillian: "Are you the one who enchanted the princess?"
Perawon (hypnotized): "I am."
Gillian: "Then you will reveal the spell!"
Perawon (hypnotized): "Gah... zoochibar... wanda boba wohjig!"
Jayce: "Quick Draw, Program AX-19! Drill Sergeant, Sequence 12!"
Jayce: "Herc! Can we get some cover here?"
Herc: "Suuure; you only call me when you need something!"
Herc: "So there's eight of them and one of me...!"
Princess Kiandra: "You have to live, please! We need you to live! We'll all die without you! Please... try?"
Flora: "Please, I beg you! Try! Take all my strength if you have to, but try! PLEASE?!"
Flora: "It's the tree! The tree's protecting us! The tree won't let them have the plants!"
Princess Kiandra: "Please wait! I-I could show you the way!"
Jayce: "No! You must stay here! The people of this planet need you!"
Princess Kiandra: "But...!"
Jayce: "You are a vital link between the people and the Tree of Life!"
Princess Kiandra: "I'll remember you!"
Jayce: "Me too -- goodbye!"
Princess Kiandra: "Goodbye... oh!"
Herc: "Yep, there were two hundred of them and one of me -- hey, are you listening?! There were two hundred of them! And only one of me..."
