GENERAL VEHICLE FEATURES

LIGHTNING LEAGUE VEHICLES

    Equipment Standard on All Vehicles:

    • Amethyst Triple-Shielding: Protects the vehicles and the barge from Snap Dragon thermal rays, which could otherwise overheat their engines. This shielding was not an original feature of the vehicles, but was added later in the series, during the Stallions of Sandeen episode.

    • Climbing Ability: All of the wheeled/treaded vehicles can travel up and over sheer cliffs and mountainsides, provided that they are traveling fast enough. Trail Blazer cannot climb, but can slam cliffsides & stomp on the ground.

    • High-Gravity Immunity: All vehicles can function normally in heavy-gravity environments.

    • Life-Support Systems: All vehicles have an oxygen supply, temperature controls, and protection from the vacuum of space.

    • Magnetizers: Located within the bottom panels of the vehicles, these create a magnetic pull towards nearby metallic objects. They are commonly used to attach the vehicles to the Pride's outer hull when in the vacuum of space.

    • Radiation Immunity: The vehicles have limited invulnerability to radiations, such as the natural radiation found in space and the Radiation Rapids. For extreme zones of nuclear radiation, such as on the planet Sahlor, the vehicles need to undergo special adaptions.

    • Stack 'N' Attack Weapons: The following weapons can be swapped between the vehicles, usually by activating a small rocket behind the weapon which automatically sends it to and installs it in the correct waiting vehicle.

      • Freeze Rays: These encase Monster Mind vehicles and vines inside solid ice.

      • Lasers: Each vehicle has at least four of these, which cause burning and/or force damage. They can also be used to puncture tires. The lasers are usually blue, yellow, or orange-yellow in color.

      • Lift Rays (AKA Anti-Gravity Rays or Gravity Decreasers): These are beams that are used to levitate Monster Mind troopers briefly into the air, then drop them onto their own forces.

      • Mind Messers: These guns radiate dark pink circles of energy that cause mental confusion in the Monster Minds and make them swerve out of control, often causing them to ram into their own forces.

      • Skid Guns: These guns use a brown liquid, white foam, or blue paste to trip up Monster Mind vehicles and cause them to skid out of control. The guns can either be aimed directly at enemy tires or can squirt a puddle onto the ground in their path.

    • Transmitters: Used to send and receive communications to other people, vehicles, buildings, and ships. They are sometimes knocked out by powerful explosions.

    General Vehicle Strengths:

All vehicles are designed to carry out Jayce's vocal commands via communicator. The vehicles are pre-programmed with a variety of battle plans, standard operations, rescue plans, and other modes/plans that can be carried out with a single order from Jayce. They can also be manually driven by other individuals. The vehicles can withstand a great deal of punishment. Each carries extra weapons in case any of those in use were to break.

    General Vehicle Weaknesses:

If Jayce is directly controlling any of the vehicles via communicator, they cannot be driven by anyone else. If Jayce's communicator is lost or damaged while any of the vehicles are awaiting his commands, they will be rendered immobile, and thus become sitting ducks. Boiling nitrogen can disintegrate the vehicles. All of the vehicles have a tendency to malfunction in extreme heat, such as that produced by a ship's rockets. (The amethyst shielding cannot provide protection from heat that intense.) Their glass canopies can be shattered by high-frequency sonic attacks.

MONSTER MIND TROOPERS

    Equipment Standard on All Troopers:

    • Lasers: Each vehicle has at least two of these. They are usually red, yellow, or white in color.

    • Climbing: All of the wheeled/treaded vehicles can travel up and over sheer cliffs and mountainsides, provided that they are traveling fast enough. Beast Walker cannot climb.

    • High-Gravity Immunity: All vehicles function normally in heavy-gravity environments.

    • Radiation Immunity: The vehicles are immune to most forms of radiation.

    • Skid Guns: These guns eject a brown liquid or white foam that causes enemy vehicles to slide out of control.

    • Telepathy with Saw Boss: All troopers can form a mental link with Saw Boss that enables him to see through their sensors. This link also allows Saw Boss to speak through them. (Lizzard's Note: This mental link is, in effect, a creepy form of vegetable posession.)

    General Trooper Strengths:

The original Monster Minds automatically transform into their vehicle forms upon leaving the headquarters, providing them with a degree of protection from enemies. The cloned troopers, born from vine blossoms, can gestate and grow to full size in mere seconds. Under Saw Boss' telepathic directions, the troopers can attack as a strong cohesive unit. The troopers are so numerous that they can generally overrun planets and crush enemy forces without much trouble.

    General Trooper Weaknesses:

The troopers tend to be overzealous when attacking the Lightning League, leading to careless mistakes. Their numbers can be used against them. As plants, all Monster Mind vehicles are vulnerable to defoliants and pesticides. If the two halves of the Root are joined together, the Monster Minds will be destroyed.
